Hoodia Gordonii - A Review

Friday, December 5th, 2008

Why write a review of Hoodia Gordonii now?

It’s not new news, Hoodia Gordonii has been around a few years. That statement is true, so is this one. I am sitting at my laptop writing this review between bites of my big Toblerone bar because I am past my weight issues and that is in some measure, thanks to Hoodia and, more specifically, the Desert Burn brand.

I don’t know how much weight I lost in total, because I didn’t do one of those motivational “lose weight now” programs with calorie-precise meals and shakes for breakfast, lunch and dessert. I had my own motivation which came because of a “reborn” passion for motor sport, namely motorcycle racing.

Every ripple and curve of a lardy gut is ruthlessly exposed in a tight fitting one-piece leather race suit. The first time I went looking for a suit I was told that I would have to get a ridiculously expensive tailored suit because — surprise surprise – they didn’t have an off the peg in my size.
That was it for me. Down to the nearest gym.

I quickly started enjoying training in a gym, lucky me. This was great. I was losing a lot of weight, right up until I hit a barrier. I reached that last tire around my belly. It was like I had swallowed my bike’s rear tire. I was running for an hour and a half 4 times a week but that tire was just bouncing along with me.

It was diet. I couldn’t believe it was diet because I am a vegetarian and always have been. I lived on carbos: Cheese, pasta, fries, bread and lots of sugar. My eating habits were out of control. My taste buds were in control. The power of those little spots on my tongue was out of proportion to their size.

The hardest part of weight loss for me was knife and fork control. I would run all day as long as I could have that chocolate muffin after. It was hopeless.

This is where Hoodia came in.

I hate taking drugs of any kind. My wife has had to resort to threats to get me to take a paracetamol, and it would have to be really bad before I would cave.

Then one day, my mother of all the people, called me because she’s heard about this cactus from South Africa that has been used by desert hunting tribes men, to keep hunger at bay on long hunts.

It took about a week before I noticed it working. I was forgetting to eat! I had to remind myself to eat. But I was able too eat smaller portions and felt full.

The best bit was that I could say no to chocolate, sweets pastries, bubble gum, pies, cakes, and on and on. I even stopped taking sugar in my tea or coffee.

The rear tire gave up the fight. I got my self down to 69 kilos my dream weight.

End of the war, I win.

After I stopped taking Hoodia, I was very much in control of the situation. Hoodia taught me how to control my taste buds. I can say no, if I notice I am putting on weight again. It has given me back a power of choice.

Hypnosis Cd

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

hypnosis and hypnotherapy is a gentle yet effective method that helps a person to release unwanted habits, past emotional traumas or restricting beliefs through the creation of new thought patterns. A state of hypnosis is one of focused physical relaxation. As the conscious mind is focused on relaxing the body, the subconscious is directly accessible and extremely suggestible. Every person enters a state of self-hypnosis at least two times a day. The first is upon waking in the morning and the second is upon going to sleep at night. A hypnotherapy session produces that same sensation. A person will feel completely relaxed, thoughts will be quieted, and yet they are still aware of the immediate environment.

This relaxed state is so effective because the subconscious mind is open and ready to receive any direction impressed upon it. During this time, a hypnotherapist will ask the subconscious to reveal the root cause of the issue being discussed. It will respond by triggering a memory, a thought about someone or something, a vision, an intuitive hunch, or produce a sensation in the body. Most likely the root cause involves physical or emotional trauma, and one can never be sure how the core issue will arise until they are in the process of releasing it.

Hypnotherapy offers a safe setting for anyone to examine past experiences that they want to release and heal. An experienced hypnotherapist will know how to effectively guide a person through the remembered experience in the most gentle and safe feeling way. Once the root caused is identified and released, the hypnotherapist will continue to ask the infinite intelligence of the subconscious to reveal any insight as to what may bring balance, wholeness and well-being to that particular area of their life.

Listening carefully to the wisdom revealed, the hypnotherapist will repeat the advice back to the person using the most powerful and supportive words. Most hypnotherapists will record this part of the session so that a person may continue to reinforce the new thought patterns through auto-suggestion. Auto-suggestion is a necessary part of the healing process. It serves to embed and reinforce the new way of thinking until it becomes the dominant thought. That is the ultimate goal. As a person successfully shifts the way they think around a particular experience, they will experience the change that they are seeking.

People generally turn to hypnotherapy when they have a desire to heal a certain area of their life in which no other modalities have been successful. Considering hypnotherapy is to open the mind to new beliefs and experiences. hypnosis and hypnotherapy will not only serve to transform certain areas of a person’s life, it allows a person to experience the infinite wisdom of the subconscious that lies directly within them. To connect with an internal source of profound healing ability empowers people in many different ways. A hypnotherapy session is sure to remind a person that all answers are found within. Experiencing the power of one’s own mind provides a newly discovered sense of the unlimited potential of one’s own being. It truly is a wonderful experience.

Lose Overweight

Sunday, November 2nd, 2008

Want to get rid of those extra pounds? Well, then all you need to do is simply write down your daily food intake, for it can double your Weightloss, according to a new study.

The study, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, followed 1,700 Fat people over six months, and revealed that those who wrote down everything they ate lost an average of 13lb.

“Recording what you eat can really help you with Weightloss, because a lot of the time, you’re not conscious of your behavior,” Times Online quoted Azmina Govindji, a consultant nutritionist and author of The Hot Body Plan, as saying.

“Some eating habits are situational - for example, having tea and a chocolate biscuit while watching your favorite television program. We do it on autopilot. If you know that you actually have to record every item you eat, it gives a split-second pause for thought. You think, ‘Do I really want to write this down.’

“Through the use of a food journal, we often become aware of patterns that are self-destructive.

“We become more authentically honest with ourselves, and we start asking the question ‘What’s eating me?’ instead of ‘What can I eat?’ ” Govindji said.

Even people who believe that they are resolutely healthy can get a shock when they see everything written down in black and white.

“Once someone spots a pattern, then they can do something to change it,” Govindji said.

The most common patterns she uncovers are in those who eat naughty foods because they are bored, hormonal or depressed.

Over-restriction

Did it occur to you why a lot of weight loss programs record failures? The primary factor responsible for that is the characteristic over-restriction found with most of the weight loss programs. Anyone that chooses such would eventually have to limit the kind of foods eaten down to the amount of calories consumed.

Often times, the body refuses to adapt thus leaving it with no other option than bowing to the strings of needless weight gain. This makes the primary reason for finding the right weight loss program remain that it allows the eating of a good variety of foods and therefore not too restrictive. However, this does not send the signal of eating unnecessary foods like cupcakes, candy bars and milkshakes every day. If one does that, one would never lose weight.

Crash-dieting

The absence of crash dieting is another factor to be looked at when choosing a good weight loss program. Good weight loss programs allow one to shed excess weight safely and healthily over a long period of time. Most of the time, the urge to lose weight immediately is there, but one has to resist it. One might eventually have to quit the weight loss program if resistance to the urge was unsuccessful and then go back to the previous weight again.

Good weight loss programs would not allow one to feel hungry often, unlike the crash diets would do. Rather, one would be allowed to be filled comfortably. One would also be allowed to eat some of their favorites while still losing weight.

It can be concluded from the above discussion that not all weight loss plans are able to deliver what they claim. Two most important features of an effective and healthy weight loss program is the one that is not too restrictive and isn’t based on the idea of instant results. An effective diet plan uses flexible approach and it brings desirable results over a period of time in a healthy manner.

Weight loss

You cast your eye on the table. Mmm… one after another, great heaping dishes of food. Comfort food. Holiday food. You dig in, savoring every bite. Now the meal is over and you are going through that terrible cycle of holiday remorse. Sure, it’s great to be able to indulge in some festive food favorites, but there is always that guilt afterward.

Wahida Karmally, Dr.P.H., R.D., C.D.E., a registered dietitian on the Nutrition Advisory Committee at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center and director of nutrition at the Irving Institute for Clinical Research at Columbia University Medical Center, says you can avoid this psychological turmoil by adopting a more sensible approach to holiday eating and exercise. “You will not gain weight from one meal by itself. Consistency is the key; if you eat healthful meals during the months before the holidays, a splurge or two can be fit in.”

“Don’t deny yourself the occasional treat. What people need to realize is that everybody can eat something of everything — it’s just a question of how much,” she adds.

The following is the holiday feast survival guide — a road map of sorts to keep you and your diet from straying too far this year.

* Plan ahead. Remember the “calorie bank” concept. Save calories the week before to give yourself more calories to eat during the holidays.

* Never go to a party hungry. Snack on fruit, non-fat yogurt or vegetables before you leave for the party. You will be less tempted to overindulge while you’re there.

* Take control of your environment whenever possible. Never engage in conversation while sitting next to a platter of your favorite cookies.

* Bring a low-fat dish to the party. Share with other guests.

* Fill your plate with vegetables and lean protein foods — then add small “tastes” of high-fat dishes.

* Eat slowly and savor every bite. It takes 20 minutes for the stomach to signal to your brain that you are full.

* Decide in advance how you will handle gifts of cookies and candy. Don’t leave them out in the open so that you will be tempted to binge. Keep one or two and give the rest away.

* Limit alcohol consumption. Not only does alcohol contain many calories, but it can also stimulate your appetite and reduce your willpower. Try a wine spritzer, or, better yet, avoid alcohol completely and drink seltzer or mineral water with a twist of lime, or a non-alcoholic tomato juice cocktail.

* Don’t allow holiday activity to slow down your exercise program. Exercise can help burn off extra calories and make you feel good about yourself.

* Moderation is the key to Losing Weight maintenance. A forkful of cheesecake will do less damage than a whole piece. Remember, an occasional indulgence will not destroy your Weight loss attempts.

Weight Loss For A Healthy You

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

Hypnosis Weight Loss is a procedure which helps to lose weight without pills or surgery. Although hypnosis is very effective in any weight loss program, it should be used as a part of your overall weight loss plan.

The hypnosis procedure begins with the subject being placed into a relaxed, subliminal, hypnotic, trance like state. This trance like state is often compared to the state of mind one is in when they are so engrossed in reading a book, they are oblivious to everything around them.

It is at this stage the mind becomes receptive to suggestions given it. When hypnosis weight loss is the goal, the hypnotist plants positive thoughts and suggestions in the subconscious mind as to what types of foods they desire, and what types they should avoid.

Since the suggestions the hypnotist plants go directly to the subconscious, the mind accepts them as true statements. Once the subject is brought out of the trance, the mind works to make the suggestions agree with the body. This means that good habits are encouraged by the body and bad habits are discouraged.

Expensive hypnosis weight loss sessions can be avoided by using a good, inexpensive MP3 hypnosis weight loss program. Programs like this can be downloaded to your MP3 player or computer and listened to at your leisure.

It’s like having your own personal hypnotist on your MP3, putting you into a hypnotic trance and feeding your subconscious mind with powerful weight loss suggestions. Not only is this a simple hypnosis weight loss solution, it has been proven to work really well.

You too can begin to enjoy a healthier, better, you through the power of hypnotism. Check here http://www.iwillmakeyouthin.net to learn how using hypnosis MP3 programs can help you loss weight effortlessly and then keep the weight off forever.

My Holiday Weight Loss Bikini Dream

Monday, September 29th, 2008

It was a great family holiday and we completely enjoyed our two week holiday in Ibiza to the full this year, I felt great, wearing a bikini in public, it was the first time in about five years that I have had the confidence to wear a bikini in public.

Mary Jane was my second born, just over 5 years ago, I have not been able to wear anything like this. There has been a couple of reasons for this, the first is the extra weight I put on whilst in pregnancy, far more this time than my first daughter, I have heard that this is common and plenty of women tend to carry extra weight whilst in there second or third pregnancy.
